CJC-1295 No DAC and Ipamorelin often appear in the same research context because both relate to the growth hormone axis. However, they do not belong to the same pharmacological class and do not activate the same receptor pathway.
CJC-1295: the GHRH-analogue approach
CJC-1295 belongs to the group of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) analogues. The classic CJC-1295 with the DAC modification was designed for extended binding and exposure, and pharmacokinetic data have been published for this long-acting form. These data must not automatically be applied to CJC-1295 No DAC, which lacks the same modification.

Ipamorelin: the GH secretagogue approach
Ipamorelin is a pentapeptide growth hormone secretagogue. Preclinical pharmacological work describes stimulation of GH release via the GHRP/GHS receptor pathway, separate from the GHRH receptor.

Key difference
| CJC-1295 No DAC | Ipamorelin | |
|---|---|---|
| Broader class | GHRH analogue | GH secretagogue / GHRP-like pathway |
| Primary receptor context | GHRH receptor | GHS/GHRP receptor pathway |
| Research focus | Pituitary GHRH signalling and the GH axis | Secretagogue signalling and GH release |
Why they should not be equated
Although both end up in the broader GH axis, the upstream signal is not the same. Pharmacological data, pharmacokinetics and results for one compound should therefore not be attributed to the other.
